Massmart Distribution Centre

Massmart has officially opened its new Distribution Centre, in Riversands, Johannesburg. The 75 000m2 warehouse is the second of three new facilities in Massmart’s new centralized network which uses shared distribution centers to serve stores across the entire group. Construction of this facility began in late 2019 following thorough planning and engagement with Walmart regarding optimal designs. Stab-a-Load have been part of this amazing journey since 2020, assisting with guidance from our very experienced National Sales Manager Coert van Zyl in regards to the correct handling equipment required for the distribution center and the correct door solutions. Coert worked very closely with Archstone Construction. One thing the project team could not have foreseen was the need to fast-track the completion of the facility, to keep stores stocked. The time line was brought forward by 5 months which gave our team here at Stab-a-Load 16 weeks to install the following equipment:

51 x LX 710 NG Docklevellers; 16 x Galvanized Pit frames; 64 x laminated Bumpers

Loading docks are the heart of operations in any facility. This is where products are received into the facility (distribution center) and where products are shipped out of the facility on demand of the different stores. Where there is no loading dock equipment, every other operation in your facility is impacted and time is money. The purpose of dock levelers is to fill in the gap between trucks and your loading docks so that forklifts can safely go in and out of the trucks to load and offload them.

51 x Dock Doors; 1 x Ramp Door; 43 on grade Doors; 4 x Truck wash doors; 2 Battery Bay Doors

Here we installed our world class Sectional overhead doors, RW insulated sectional doors achieve the highest thermal values and stability using HCFC free Neufoam polyurethane insulation. The sectional doors panel thickness ranges from 38mm to 76mm, ideal for warehousing, manufacturing, storage facilities, cold room warehousing, banana ripening rooms amongst many others.

41 x Electrically Operated Roller Shutter Doors; 26 x Push Up Roller Shutter Doors

Stab-a-Load provided 67 Roller Shutter Doors, these doors were provided as security covering entrances and windows in case of a riot as well as burglar proofing the building.

Even with the tight deadline Stab-a-Load was able to ensure installation timeously with excellent workmanship and teamwork!!
